Chidiya — for Big Band | Written & Conducted by R. Taylor Fleming

Chidiya (Hindi for “bird”) is an original composition for big band and part of a larger work titled A Book About Birds, a collection of pieces in which I aim to write music that embodies the character and personality of loved ones in my life.

I traveled to Rajasthan, India to see family and recorded with my tabla teacher, Gulam Gosh while I was in Jaipur. I love playing with this guy!

New Composition - Moon Through Trees (2024)

Moon Through Trees is an original I wrote and adapted to a 17-piece big band. The piece is an homage to my mother, Pam.
